Class Content: This next-level mosaic class will introduce students to creating and working on a 4”x6” undulating substrate. Come experience the Magic of Mosaics and let your imagination soar. Substrates will be prepared ahead of time and a demonstration will teach students how to make them. Then the fun begins while you get creative— Persian rug? Indian blanket? Modern design? Bring your idea and we will make it fly!
Supply List: Tools, substrates and some mosaic materials are provided. Students should bring mosaic parts— particularly bead strings, fringe or tassels in the color palettes they prefer to insure you can make their idea a reality.
Biography: Susan Watson is a traditional stained glass artist who started her mosaic journey 12 years ago after taking a stone cutting class in Pennsylvania. Since then she has studied under mosaic masters all over the world. Earlier this year, Susan studied two different techniques for creating undulating substrates and now it’s time to share this with Knoxville artists.
