Art Journaling – A Journey in Mixed Media
Meets every month:
4th Friday, 1 – 4 pm
$5.00 per class
Chota Room A
Art journaling is a mixed media art opportunity. Have fun with others while learning to play in paint, collage, and fun mixed media techniques.
In this class we try new techniques with paints, pens, papers, stencils and other tools. We use an art journal as a place to capture these new techniques so you will be able to refer back to them in the future. The goal is not to create a finished piece of art, but rather have a place to experiment and try new techniques. There is no right or wrong way to do this. We share ideas, paint, talk and relax. This class is for newbies to advanced artists because it will make you happy.
The class supply list:
- Acrylic paints and brushes
- Markers and pens of your choice which might include markers, paint pens and gel pens
- Art journal* with mixed media or acrylic paper (Mixed media paper will work too)
- Optionally: Stencils, stamps & handmade or scrapbooking papers to cut up
- Bring water container and paper towels, apron recommended
*We recommend using an art journal as a place to try new things and remember what you have done, but acrylic or mixed media paper will work too. Look for art journals specifically for painting by Canson, Grumbacher, Strathmore etc with the heavier weight paper ( 90# or 140#) which are widely available at major retailers.
Covid protocol: AGTV recommends wearing a face mask when social distancing isn’t possible.
