Art Show 2026: Reminders for Exhibitors

Art Guild of Tellico Village

Hello Exhibitors!

We are all looking forward to a very successful Art Show! We have 235 pieces of art to display from 63 artists. While that is really exciting, it also means that we need to be super efficient in order to ensure that everything goes smoothly.

Here is a checklist to help you make sure your work is ready to be displayed and so that you know when to pick it up. We’ve also included some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to help clarify anything that you may need to know.
CHECKLIST FOR DELIVERING AND COLLECTING YOUR ART

Community Church at Tellico Village, 130 Chota Center Drive, Loudon

IMPORTANT: Enter through the door near the stage

Delivery – 2:00pm – 4:00pm Thursday, 4/9/24

  • Frame and wire your artwork with D- rings (see FAQ below)
  • Apply your label to the back of your art (Title, Artist, Medium, Price).
Here is the link to the blank label sheet to print.
  • Bring a single sheet of cardboard the size of your artwork for each entry.
  • Print your first and last name on top right corner of cardboard that protects your 2-D piece

Pickup – begins at 4:00 pm; ends at 4:30 pm Sunday

  • Pick up your cardboard (arranged alphabetically by last name)
  • Remove your artwork (a friend may pick-up your artwork for you)
  • Please do not start taking down the panels – we have a team for that

FAQ: Artwork Display Requirements

What if I forgot what price or title I put in the application?

We have a complete list of all exhibitors and their artwork here:
https://www.tellicoartguild.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Show-2026-Sales-List.pdf

Does my art need to be framed?

All 2-D art must be framed OR have deep profiles with finished edges and no visible staples. Hanging wires should be taut so they won’t be visible at the top when hung. Use D-rings – no sawtooth or eyetooth handers may be used. Painted surfaces must be dry. Our framing requirements are here.

Why do I need to bring cardboard with my 2-D or 3-D art?

We suggest transporting your work with a sheet of cardboard to protect it. If you do choose to do this, please be prepared to take it back with you after dropping off, and again bringing it on Sunday for the pickup.

All 3-D art and any fragile art that hangs (such as fiber or glass) should be delivered in a box to protect it during staging.

How do I help to best display my 3-D art?

Pieces must balance and stand on their own. Jewelry must be displayed in boxes or on forms.
Artists displaying stained glass items need to provide their own means of display/hanging. Glass can be heavy if your piece is large and the panels may not be able to support them.
FAQ: Sales and Marketing

May I bring business cards?

Yes, you may bring your business cards when you bring your artwork! Business cards will be placed at the Sales Info Desk for our visitors.

How will I know if my art sells and what is the Sales Information process?

We have a Sales Information team that will handle the sales process. Look for the Sales Table on the far side of the kitchen area. Each piece of art will have a number assigned and displayed on the title cards.

If your art is sold, it will be indicated with a red dot. Please check at the sales desk for further instructions to connect with the buyer after the show off church premises. There is NO COMMISSION, and the Art Guild does not collect payments for the artists.

If I sell my work during the exhibit times, may I remove it for my client?

No, artwork may NOT be removed during the exhibit. But you can contact your client and arrange to meet them outside the church anytime after you pick up your art after 4 pm on Sunday.

What if a Buyer inquires about a sold item?

If a Buyer inquires about a sold item, the Artist’s business card or contact info will be provided, so the Buyer can make contact about viewing additional work available or to commission custom artwork.

FAQ: Attending and Promoting the Show

Do I need to attend the Opening Reception on Friday?

While it’s not required, it’s a nice opportunity for visitors and possible buyers to meet the artists whose work they admire. Please remember to wear a name tag.

Is there music this year?

Yes, music will be provided by volunteers throughout the weekend. Please take a moment to thank the musicians who are donating their time for our event.

No food will be provided this year and no food is allowed in the exhibit.

Class Content: Loose, But Not Lost is a one-day, paint-forward workshop for artists who want their work to feel freer and more expressive—without falling apart.

Many painters crave looseness but fear losing control. In this workshop, we’ll explore how to paint boldly while maintaining clarity, structure, and intention. Through short demonstrations and extended studio time, you’ll learn how to simplify, edit, and make strong compositional decisions while painting loosely.

This is not about copying a style or following formulas. I’m not teaching you how to paint like me—I’m helping you paint like you, with confidence and freedom that still feels grounded.

Expect a relaxed, encouraging environment, clear guidance, and plenty of time at the easel. You’ll leave with work that feels expressive yet resolved—and a better understanding of how to balance freedom and structure in your own painting practice.

All levels welcome.

  • 2–3 favorite brushes
  • 1 larger brush for loose work

  • Palette
  • Water container

Biography: Catron Wallace is a Nashville-based abstract painter whose work blends intuition, movement, and color into compositions that feel both organic and architectural. With over 30 years of professional practice, Wallace has developed a refined visual language rooted in rhythm, emotion, and the quiet power of simplicity.

Her paintings are known for their dynamic layers, luminous palettes, and the sense of grounded energy they bring to contemporary interiors. Each piece is built through a process of physical engagement — gestures, markings, and subtle shifts that echo the landscapes, seasons, and internal worlds she moves through.

Throughout her career, Wallace has exhibited across the Southeast and has placed work in private collections, designer-curated homes, and boutique gallery spaces. She maintains a steady studio practice and continues to evolve her work with a deep respect for craft and a commitment to authenticity.

Driven by a lifelong dedication to creativity, Wallace approaches each canvas as an invitation — to pause, breathe, and experience a moment of clarity. Her work resonates with collectors seeking art that is both visually striking and emotionally grounding.

Wildlife Photography – Artistic Photography of Wildlife from around the World

Jan Muir has been creating intimate portraits of wildlife in remote locations. She will share her art, favorite locations, adventure stories, and some simple tips to bring your own photographic vision to life.

Artist Bio: On the Edge of Wild

From the glitter of Las Vegas to the whispers of the Smoky Mountains, my art travels between urban pulse and serene wild song. My experiences touch each artwork and become a testament to the cultural vibrancy and untamed beauty that inspire me. From remote glaciers to bustling foreign festivals, each experience adds a vibrant thread to my artistic tapestry. Through my art, I strive to connect each of us to the majesty of nature and the diversity of culture, to ignite a passion for preserving our planet’s uniqueness and wonder.

Nature is my constant muse. It whispers to me, and I translate its voice into visual stories using photos, glass, ceramics, and paint. Each medium, in different ways, allows me to express the awe, the fragility, the resilience of our planet.
My artwork is always evolving and experimentation is my companion. Molten glass is coaxed into swirling orbs and becomes a frozen echo of sunlit waves crashing on distant shores. Clay, my ancient teacher, whispers stories of mountain ranges weathered by the winds of time, each crack and crevice a testament to resilience and beauty. Pigments, vibrant emissaries from faraway bazaars, remind me of the uniqueness and fragility of our shared humanity. Through these diverse mediums, I strive not only to capture the awe-inspiring grandeur of nature but also to ignite a sense of compassion, a call to protect the wild spaces that sustain us all. Each piece invites you to walk with me, to step beyond the familiar and embrace the exquisite dance of wonder that unfolds around us each and every day.

I invite you to step closer to both listen to the whispers of nature, and to see the vibrant cultural threads that weave us all together. Welcome to my journey. Please walk with me.

2023 Emporium Exhibit

Art Guild of Tellico Village

The Art Guild of Tellico Village is sponsoring an exhibit in October which will feature 40-50 works selected by jury. This exhibit will be held at the Emporium in downtown Knoxville. This show will feature two-dimensional art in any media and will be open to all AGTV members.  It is intended to showcase exceptional work produced by our member community.

The theme of the exhibit is “As We Interpret Our World“. We are fascinated by the kaleidoscope of beauty and emotion a close community of artists can create.  We observe the same world, yet record images, movement, and meaning uniquely.  Featuring artistic styles ranging from abstract to realistic, incorporating a variety of media, this exhibition considers the myriad of results possible when interpretation meets the eye of the beholder.

What media are accepted?

The Show is open to two-dimensional media including acrylic, watercolor, oil, pastel, drawing, fiber, collage, printmaking, photography, and digital media.  The only restrictions are that all work submitted must be original to the artist (idea, design and production), created within the past three years, and have not been shown in previous shows within our region.

What is the entry fee and how many submissions are allowed per artist?

The entry fee is $40. The application process is now closed. Artists are encouraged to enter up to a maximum of three pieces.  The entry price is the same whether you enter 1 or 3 pieces. Artwork will be submitted and reviewed digitally.

Who will select exhibited art and prize winners?

The juror will make all determinations on work selected for the exhibition and awards. Approximately $1,000 in awards are available. Awards will be presented during an artist reception in October (date to be announced).

Who is the juror?

The AGTV Board of Directors selected Kimberly Winkle as our juror.  Ms. Winkle will review and select from digital images submitted by artists through AGTV’s application process.  She alone is accountable for selecting the work to be exhibited and has agreed to provide brief written critiques to participating artists. Information about Kimberly Winkle may be found on her website.

  • All art must be original and created by the artist. Artwork may represent any subject matter but should be generally appropriate for all ages.

  • Items that need specific sized fixtures or hanging devices should be delivered with those devices.
  • If matted, neutral colors are recommended.

  • Artwork will be displayed in the Emporium Center’s main gallery, which accommodates 40-50 works.

Contractual Obligations

Following are contractual requirements and obligations agreed to with Arts & Culture Alliance (ACA) for all works displayed in the Emporium.  Artists must comply with these agreements:

  • Sales & Commissions: ACA prefers that artwork be presented for sale. The following commission applies to all sales: 25% (20% for cash/check sales). To operate in accordance with the Tennessee Department of Revenue guidelines, ACA will add sales tax to the price of each work that sells from the Emporium and for which it collects payment. Sales tax is NOT added to works being carried or shipped out of state. Sales are permitted as a service to patrons of the ACA. However, ACA cannot guarantee such sales. The receipt of funds from sales, the retention of commissions, and the disbursement of monies to Artist will be handled by ACA. Sold works are to remain in the exhibition until its official close unless an alternate arrangement can be reached that is mutually agreeable to ACA, Artist, and the purchaser of the artwork.
  • Handling: ACA agrees to handle all artwork with proper care so that artwork will not be damaged, excepting ordinary wear and tear. ACA shall not be liable for damage or loss caused by war, confiscation, order of any government or public authority, or by any and all causes beyond the control of ACA. Theft, Damage or Loss: ACA agrees to notify Artist within 36 hours by telephone, e-mail, and/or written notification upon the event of any theft, damage or loss that occurs while artwork is in the possession of ACA. In the event of loss or damage to artwork at fault of ACA, ACA agrees to compensate up to reasonable market value on each artwork as agreed upon by Artist and ACA Executive Director.
  • Transportation: Moving or shipping artwork to and from the Emporium will be the sole responsibility of Artist.
  • Installation: Works must be suitably framed/mounted and WIRED to hang. Work should be ready to exhibit according to accepted Museum standards (i.e., canvases should be stretched with finished edges, drawings should be at least mounted and matted or fitted with Plexiglas). ACA reserves the right to inspect and, if necessary, prepare or request Artist to prepare the artwork for exhibition according to said standards. ACA reserves the right to refuse to display any object for any reason. Artist must use the existing hanging system in the Gallery (Walker Display, see image). Each rod and hanger can accommodate 25 lbs, and ACA has 48 rod available. The exhibition will be set and installed by ACA. The final decision on the arrangement of and artwork included in the exhibition rests with ACA. No artist will be allowed to rearrange, modify, or remove any artwork or cultural programming present in the Emporium, not even temporarily during the renter’s scheduled event. However, there may be times when ACA deems it necessary to adjust the position of an artwork in order to protect it from possible damage during an event. If that occurs, ACA will make every effort to contact Artist to arrange for the artwork to be moved. If Artist is unavailable to move the object, ACA will adjust the position of the artwork, taking every precaution to preserve the integrity and safety of the artwork.
  • Publicity: Artist agrees to provide biographical information, artist’s statement, digital images, and other publicity materials as requested. Artist agrees to allow ACA to photograph. Artist’s artwork for publicity, education, and catalog purposes. Artist agrees to allow work to be photographed by third parties. ACA agrees to draft a press release promoting the exhibition and reception to be sent to media. ACA will send announcements about the exhibition to its members as part of regular communications and electronic invites to its extensive lists of members, friends, media, etc. This information will also be posted in the exhibition space.
