211011 Introduction to Acrylic Pouring – Joni Smith

Workshop Content: Learn how to mix the paint, learn the basic techniques, and get hands on experience producing your own works of poured art.
I will provide the paint and pouring medium, canvases, gloves, and other supplies. Please bring a few trays, pans, or box tops covered in tin foil to put your paintings in, (minimum size 10”x 12”) and a roll of paper towels. Wear old clothes – this is messy! Plan to do two test tiles and two 8×10 canvases. I will have many acrylic paint colors, including red, yellow, blue, orange, purple, aqua, white, black, gold, silver, and more.

I paint mostly using acrylics but also do mixed media. I’ve been doing fluid acrylic paintings for the past 4 years. It is a very fun and free form of expression.
Covid Protocol: Face masks will be required during demonstrations and close contact situations. Joni will speak to the whole class socially distanced during the presentation without a mask in order to be heard. Artists tables will be spaced 6-10 feet apart — masks optional when socially distanced.
