Located in downtown Knoxville, the Emporium Center has 28,000 square feet of flexible use space that houses multiple art galleries showcasing local and regional artists, the administrative offices of the Arts & Culture Alliance, and offices for six other arts and cultural organizations. Additionally, the building has studios for ten individual artists and rehearsal, classroom and meeting spaces.

The Appalachian Pastel Society is centered in western North Carolina (Asheville area) and serves members from North Carolina, Tennesee, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and other states.  APS offers bi-monthly informational programs and demos on pastel techniques, workshops, juried and non-juried exhibition opportunities for members, and sponsors National Juried Shows open to all.

The Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, GA is a 120,000-square-foot museum that has the largest permanent exhibition space for Western art in the nation. Galleries feature fine paintings, sculpture, Native American artifacts, Civil War art, and Western movie posters.

The Hunter Museum in Chatanooga focuses on American art from the Colonial period to the present day. The collection includes paintings, works on paper, sculpture, photography, mixed media, furniture and contemporary studio glass covering a range of styles and periods.

The Southeastern Pastel Society was established in 1988 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting pastel painting in the Southeast. The Society has now grown and has members from all over the United States. We play a vital role in the pastel community by providing channels for communication and an environment in which pastel artists may flourish.

Membership in the Southern Watercolor Society is open to persons living in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia.

There are several levels of membership:  ACTIVE:  A member whose work is accepted and exhibited in one annual SW juried competition; ARTIST:  A member whose work is accepted and exhibited in three annual SW juried competitions (not necessarily consecutive);  SIGNATURE:  Artist Class members may use the initials “SW” following their signatures.

Located in Johnson City, TN, the goal of the Tennessee Watercolor Society is to elevate the stature of watercolor and educate the public to the significance of watercolor as an important, creative, permanent painting medium. The organization’s seeks to further the interest of painters in all watermedia through programs, competitive exhibits and workshops; to encourage the study of watermedia by art students and others engaged in the medium; and to support all the visual arts.

Located in the newly refurbished Arts Building in downtown Chattanooga, TN, our facility has a retail store chocked full of fine art materials and over 2,000 square feet of gorgeous light-filled studio space where we teach classes and workshop to all ages and levels.  We have a wide variety of art instruction for the beginner and for the professional artist. Taught by professional artists and art educators, we offer instruction in painting, drawing, sculpture, print making, mixed media, and a weekly open figure drawing studio.
