Class Content: This class will be conducted using projected images of clothed and nude models. Participants are encouraged to bring whatever medium they would like to work in. For beginners I would recommend the attached supplies list. We will begin class with gesture drawings ranging from 30 second poses to 12 or 15 minutes. The largest portion of class time will be spent on one long pose with breaks to give each person enough time to develop a drawing. We will concentrate on shape and value.
Biography: Cynthia Tipton holds two BFA’s. The first in painting from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and the second in graphic design from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She has been an active member of the art community in Knoxville for thirty years. Currently she has a studio in the Homberg area of Bearden and teaches Adults and kids while continuing to produce her own work which consists of portraits and figurative painting.
Supply List: Suggested supplies include 18×24 newsprint pad, Vine charcoal (various hardnesses) esp. soft, Chamois, Kneaded eraser
