Class Content:
Whether you are new to acrylics or have painted with them before, join us as we create an innovative, fun still life, stylized with color that will increase vibrancy and add life to a regular everyday object. Artists see beauty in everyday moments and objects. It may be the eggs on their breakfast plate, a cup of pens on their desk, or even a glass of water at a restaurant; there is beauty in the mundane. In this beginner friendly class we will learn how to choose colors that will make your art pop and how to use the grid method to scale up a reference photo onto a larger canvas!
A primed and gridded canvas (16 x 20 inches) will be provided for all attendees. Please bring a printed image (standard 8.5 x 11) of one or several everyday objects that inspire you!
Supply List:
1. Acrylic / Acrylic Gouache Paints
2. Acrylic Mediums of your choice – Ex. Matte medium, gloss medium, or Gac 100 all to help with the spreadability of your paints. Molding paste or gel mediums will create texture!
3. Brushes suitable for acrylics – for this class I suggest some nicer brushes such as Princeton Aspens (or a synthetic hog hair brush) for those nice crisp lines!
4. A palette, this could be as simple as a paper plate!
5. Of course bring any other supplies you want! I suggest bringing paint pens, crayons, paper, anything that you think will add to you still life! This will be very much painting forward!
Hannah will be providing a 16 x 20 inch primed and grided canvas!
