Class Content: If you like to work with fabrics, fiber and a little mixed media and want to make a really fun memory book/journal using your scraps and bits then this class is for you. How often have you returned from a trip or maybe a big event like a graduation or wedding and have tons of photos on your phone and maybe a handful of event tickets, flyers, knapkins, local maps..etc… Consider making a memory pocket journal where you can collect these items, put your best photos in a provided 4×6 booklet and/or dangle a zip drive with the rest of them along with that cheesy keychain of the Eiffel tower you bought from the street vender. Every time you open this journal it will take you down memory lane back to that special time. This class is for all levels and will have fabric painting, some sewing and assemblage, lots of planning and fun.

Biography: Since very young, Twyla Marti has worked in the fiber medium. Being raised in a family of seamstresses and embroiderers, there were always fiber projects in the works. As she matured, she gained her own style in this medium with various ways to use fiber and fabric in her artwork. Although Twyla has never been a quilter, she is greatly influenced by how quilt artists use fabric choices to create images and patterns. Her fiber pieces illustrate all of her experiences in working with fabric and threads in a unique way.
Twyla has been working in Mixed Media and Fiber Art for over 40 years. She has had the privilege of studying with many of the top artists/ instructors in these fields and that thas helped her develop her own style. She is an avid hiker and finds her inspiration through nature, traveling, visiting art centers and galleries along with studying and exchanging ideas with other artists.
