Biography: Christian Freeman is an artist and Knoxville native with a BFA degree from the University of Tennessee. She began her career 24 years ago as a muralist and faux finisher painting in The Knoxville Symphony Showcase Home and Parade of Homes. Since, she has completed countless residential and commercial projects, has the ability to work on any scale, and within current budgets.
Christian’s work is her passion and she has used it to transform homes and businesses into esthetically beautiful spaces. One of her well known creations were the women in the windows painted on the glass windows in the former Patrick Sullivans restaurant in Knoxville’s old city. Done in Toulouse-Lautrec style the women looked down upon the city as they did in the late 18th century. Later the windows were all auctioned off to benefit Knox Heritage. Along with her mural and faux work Christian has taught privately through the years. She has been fortunate to have seen some of her students obtain scholarships and become successful artists on their own. Currently Christian resides in Lenior City where she is restoring an old 1940’s home while continuing to create commissioned art, paint murals, teach art, and exhibit her work in art shows.
